I have a question Since we know what princesses are train to be magical warriors What about princes? What are their role? Plus what happen if a queen and a king only have one child, a son? That son becomes heir to the throne or is engaged to a princess or a random girl to be queen?
These are all good questions. I think we’d need a prince to know how it works. Ephedia’s ways are still very mysterious, even for us. ;)

In a time long past it was seen as dishonourable to have a boy as first born (as it was to have a girl be first born in British royalty back in the day, and in Japan I believe, but I’m stick to basing stuff off of the British royal family bc I know more about them considering I’m British), and usually the child was… disposed of, unfortunately. And ofc, the father is responsible for the gender of the child, so it doesn’t bode well for him either. This was mainly just with the royals and some nobility too.
But this was in the past. As it is now, girls are still preferred, but boys are generally just put to one side rather than gotten rid of. In certain families, mainly nobles, this can still be the case. But it is frowned upon to do so.
As for there just being a prince, more than likely the crown passes to the Queen’s sister or the Queen’s sister’s daughter. But then again, in Helpless I intend to go into the sexism against boys, including eventually having a prince becoming King in his own right, rather than as a glorified guard for the Queen.
A prince that’s the son of a certain hawk-motif character, a character who’s parents were those kinds of nobles and tried to get rid of him. A character who was found by Gramorr and then turned against him when his family became more important. That’s probably too many spoilers for my fic but w/e, I like sharing angst okay.
